This morning's conversation over breakfast went a little like this:
Luca: "Mummy, I don't know how to do work when I'm bigger".
I reassured him that he didn't have to work until he was a lot older and even then people don't always know how to do a particular job but they can learn or be taught.
This lead me to ask...."What do you think you'd like to do when you're bigger?"
Luca: "Ice-cream man"
Robin: "A Donut"
Not sure Jamie Oliver would be too thrilled with their career aspirations but I now can't get these images out of my head!!
Intrigued as to what your children's aspirations would be or, how did yours differ from what you thought you'd do, to what you actually did later on.
Interestingly mine wavered between artist and journalist of which I did neither however creativity and writing are skills which have come in handy more recently through First Mummies' Club.
Think interests do stay with you and can be identified quite early on.
What do you think? Xx
